When did you first start to ride?
When I was one and a half.

When did you win your first competition?
When I was three.

What makes a good show jumping pony?
Heart first then ability second. One that gives you everything every time you ask.

Who has been the biggest influence on your career so far?
My mum and dad. Mum looks after the ponies, keeps them fit and gets them to the show looking a million dollars. Dad has trained me since I can remember and we work together every day.

What do you do to relax when you’re not showjumping?
I love to chill out even at the big shows I like to spend time with my friends and have fun.

What showjumping ambitions do you have?
I want to ride at the Olympics for Great Britain. Once I get there I guess I will have to up my ambitions!

If you could be another sportsperson, who would you be?
A high jumper or a runner.

How did it feel being the youngest ever BSJA Show Jumper of the Month?
Happy!

What do you love most about showjumping?
Going fast against the clock and sitting on one that gives you everything.

What do you like least about showjumping?
Nothing , I like it all.

Does it help you having a father who was a top showjumper?
I don’t think he was ever a top show jumper. He tells me he was OK. But he understands show jumping and what we have to do to get the best out of the ponies. He does not just teach me .... we work together ...... we really are a team!


"My main aim with all the showjumpers is to keep them happy relaxed and content. If you can get a horse on your side then you can achieve so much more. The basis of showjumping is rhythm and balance so we work on that all the time. We never challenge the horses at home to jump big fences. Just small fences and build up their confidence."
