Saturday 7th January 2012 - Addington
I took four horses, Zadermus, Classic Highfly, Brill B and Usar Hune to Addington today. After an early start we finally got to the show, when we arrived we found out that I had missed my go and they wouldn't let me jump in that class. So after a two hour extra wait the next class finally began. I jumped Brill B, who we just got back from Andy austin in the Newcomers, she is only 5 so I didn't go fast, she jumped a good double clear and got placed. She is really coming along nicely and hopefully will be a good one in a few years! The next class was the grade C and I jumped Zadermus and Classic Highfly. They both jumped clear and they came 6th and 7th. Finally the last class was the 1.30 so I jumped Usar Hune and Classic Highfly. It was a two phase class so I stepped up the pace a bit in the second half. Classic Highfly was my first ride and she jumped a lovely clear, it was the first time I went quick on her and she was amazing! Finally I jumped Usar Hune who had two down in the second phase. In the end I came 3rd on Classic highfly. I was really pleased with the horses, they all jumped good. I will put the videos on youtube and my website soon!
Sunday 1st January 2012 - Hand New Year Ding Dong
It was the Hand New Year Ding Dong and I took 3 horses, Zadermus, Classic Highfly and Usar Hune. The first day I jumped Usar hune who went clear and Zadermus who had one down in the 1.25. The next class was the 1.30 and I jumped Classic Highfly who was crazy! She was leaping around and bucking, by the time I got her in the ring she was completely crazy and had two down. The next day I had to ride Classic Highfly at home to get some energy out of her. We found some stables at Hand so we decided to stay. We jumped all three in the 1.30 and they all had one down, luckily Classic Highfly had calmed down a lot after the work in the morning. The next day was New Years Eve and I jumped Zadermus and Usar Hune in the 1.20 who both had one down. I jumped Classic Highfly in the 1.35 who jumped clear. Later on that day was the New Year party which was really fun! The day after, Andy, who was riding Brill B for me decided I should ride it in the 1.10 to get used to it before we took it home that day. She jumped lovely but just had the back bar of an oxer. Later on I jumped Usar Hune who had one fence down and Zadermus who jumped a bit spooky and hesitant so I retired in the 1.20. Finally the last class was the 1.40 and we decided to step up Classic Highfly up into the bigger class. She was really good but just had one down as I got a bit close to an oxer in a trebble but apart from that I am really getting the hang of her and our bond is beginning to form.
Happy New year!
Monday 19th December 2011 - Olympia
This was my second show on Razorlite and i wasnt sure how it was going to go. I woke up at 6 in the morning to get up to Olympia, it took 2 hours and i was very tired when i got there! at 12 oclock there was a practice round in the main ring which meant you could jump three fences and so the horses could see the ring. After i jumped the practice round Razorlite was sweaty and wound up so mum had to take her back to her stable to calm her down and wash her off. after a hour it was time to jump the class for real and luckily Razorlite had calmed down by then. I was 8th to go so i had enough time to warm up and watch one. By the time i jumped there had been 2 clear rounds and i needed one to get into the jump off, Razorlite pulled through and jumped a clear, she tapped a few but jumped great. It was time for the jump-off and i was last to go. The first two before me both had one down but went very quick. I needed a clear to win. Razorlite jumped careful and quick and did a clear! I was so happy with her it was nice for her to have a chance as she lives in the shadow of Tixylix. After celebrating for a while it was time to go home. i had such a great show and i am really happy!
Saturday 10th December 2011 - Hartpury
I just took my new horse Classic Highlfy to Hartpury. I jumped in the 1.30 class, in the first round i added a few strides down some distances because i wasnt used to her stride but in the jump off my strides became a lot easier to see and i was riding in more of a ryhthm. She went double clear and got placed.
Sunday 4th December 2011 - Croften Manor
My first show back after my injury. I took two horses, Zadermus and Classic Highfly. They were both a bit ring rusty but jumped well, Zadermus jumped the 1.20 and did a nice clear, I also jumped my new horse classic highfly in the 1.20 who jumped clear. I also jumped both horses in the 1.30, Zadermus just had one down and Classic Highfly jumped another clear. I was really happy to be back in the saddle riding again!
Saturday 3rd December 2011 - Croften Manor
we took Razortlite to Croften Manor to get her ready for Olympia. She looked at a few fences but she got a lot better after a few rounds of jumping. I jumped her in a 1.10 and she had one fence down in the jump off but i took her back in the ring after the class and jumped her again and she was super!
Tuesday 27th September 2011 - Scope
a week after we retourned from Nieuwpoort, we were off to Scope. I took 3 horses and 2 ponies. The firts few days were qualifiers for the main ring, i just needed to jump clears to qualify so i didnt need to go quick. All the horses jumped great leaving me to qualify for all the classes i needed to. A bit later on in the week the championship classes began, i thought Saorsie would have a good chance to win the Foxhunter but sadly had one down in the jump off leaving me to come fouth. Zadermus jumped fantastic! only had one pole down the whole week, we stepped him up to jump the under 18s and a jumped a really nice double clear leaving me to come 4th again. We got Bageria back to england to jump at scope but she was a real handfull and i nearly fell off her twice. Razorlite jumped in the 148 class in the ouside ring and came 2nd which i was really pleased with, Saorsie also jumped this class and qualified for the main ring. User hune jumped quite well being put into all the jump offs but just having one down in each round. on the friday i jumped him in the under 16s, i was last to go and needed a quick round to win, he was jumping great and i was up on the time until i turned round the corner to the 4th fence and missed completly, crashing through the fence and falling off. I new i was in real trouble as the pain was so bad, i went to the hospital where they x-rayed me and told me i broke my ankle! the next day i had to have an opperation and stayed in hospital for three days. I now have a cast on my leg and i am off riding for 3 months. sadly going to have to miss Hoys but hopefully better soon.
Friday 19th August 2011 - nieuwpoort
I took 3 horses and 2 ponies to Nieuwpoort in Belgium. The first day was great, Razorlite won the big tour and Saorsie came third. In the juniors small tour, User Hune came second, he jumped really well but i just wasnt quite fast enough. I finally got Bagera back from Vincent, she was still her crazy self but a lot more experienced, she jumped clear in the first round and just had 2 down in the jump off but jumped great. The next day Razorlite won the big tour again! it was a speed round and i had to go very quick to beat the time, but Razorlite came through. Saorsie also jumped in the big tour, i was a bit far off one fence and had it down but she jumped fab after that. In the juniors small tour Zadermus won, he jumped a really quick round and was very carefull. I jumped bagera in the big tour and she just had one down but was jumping alot better. The last day was Grand prix day and i was expecting Razorlite to be very tired but she jumped another clear in the first round, i was last to go in the jump off and had to go super quick to beat the time, Razorlite was so quick and careful and managed to beat the time. I jumped Bagera in the juniors Grand prix but she got really strong so i got a bit deep to one fence and had it down but after that she jumped clear. I was really pleased with this show and with Razorlite
Wednesday 27th July 2011 - Europeans
After 3 days of travelling we finally arrived in Poland, it wasn’t the nicest showground I had been to and the ring wasn’t great but Tixylix jumped fab! The first day was a warm up day and Tixy jumped a clear but with a lot of bucking. The next day counted and I had to jump a clear to have a good chance in the individual and to be selected for the team. Tixy was a bit calmer by now and jumped the needed clear round. Team day- Amy, Graham, Beth and I were selected to jump on the team; the first round was brilliant as all of Great Britain jumped clears, putting us in first position, 5 points ahead of the Irish. The second round Amy was first to go and finished on 12 faults, Beth was second jumping a clear, Graham finished on 4, leaving me last to go, I could afford to have 5 faults but i was still determined to jump a clear. I was clear all the way until the last fence and sadly had it down but GB still finished 1 point ahead of the Irish. TEAM GOLD! The last day was the individual and there was 2 people on clear and 6 people including me on four. The 2 people on four faults had a fence which left me with a chance of getting a medal as Tixy jumped two amazing clear rounds. Jump off for gold- there were six of us jumping off for gold. I was second to go and set the standard with a quick round, after me was Beertrum and Beth who both jumped really good and pulled ahead of me. In the end I finished 3rd, I was so pleased. It was one of the best moments of my life! Tixy jumped absolutely amazing and I couldnt asked her for more
Friday 8th July 2011 - European selection
the European team just got announced. Amy Inglis Beth Vernon Grahem Babes Emily Roe and me
The european final is in Poland on the 25/07/2011. Its going to be a long journey but hopefully it will be worth it!
Friday 1st July 2011 - Arena UK
I got back from a school trip at 4am and had to leave for Arena uk at 8 oclock so I was very tierd. On the way up the the lorry's tyre burst! So we were stuck on the moterway for 2 hours! Anyway later we finally got the show. It was the last of the trials and I just took Tixy. there were 3 days of jumping, the first day was a warm up class and I just went for a steady clear. The second day was one of the trials and it was very big, I went clear in the first round and had 4 faults in the jump off and I came 4th. The last day was the final trial/ The John Whitaker final, Tixy jumped a fabfirst round leaving me first to go in the jump off, I went for a nice round that left some time for others to go quicker, in the end i came 3rd. It was a really good show.
Wednesday 8th June 2011 - oh dear!
Just wrote out a paragraph about western lawns and dog jumped on the computer and somehow delteded it! better re-write it.
Thursday 26th May 2011 - Western Lawns trails...second attempt to write this
The first day was the Hoys qualifier, I had three in this class, Saorsie, Tixylix and Razorlite.Tixy jumped good with a double clear, Razorlite went clear in the first round and had two down in the jump-off so I retired her to save her for the next day. We stepped Saorsie up to the bigger classes, she went clear in the first round of the Hoys and just had 8 faults in the jump off but jumped fab! The next day was the Hoys Foxhunter which I jumped Saorsie in, she jumped clear in the first two rounds and in the jump-off she had the fastest time but hit the last fence, she still finished second and is now going to Hoys. I jumped Tixylix and Razorlite in the trails that day, Razorlite jumped round with 4 faults and Tixy didnt feel to very good in the practice ring and didnt jump very well in the ring, we took her home and found her back was very sore, anyway she is all better now, all it took was a few massages!
Thursday 12th May 2011 - Moorsele
I went to Moorsele in Belgium with my horse Bageria, she is based over there with Vincent Lambrecht. We sent her over there to get more experience until I am ready to move on to her, she has come along way since I last rode her and she is more rideable. She jumped really good, I went clear the first day qualifying for the Grand Prix, it was a speed round but I didnt go quick but still came 8th. The next day was the Grand Prix, it was really big and technical and she jumped round with 8 faults. The final day was another speed round and I came 3rd. It was nice to go to a show and only have one to jump. It made a change.
Thursday 28th April 2011 - Wales and West viewing trials
sorry I havnt kept in touch, I have been revising for my exams.
anyway Wales was the first of the three viewing trials. I took my three ponies, Razorlite, Tixylix and Saorsie. The ponies jumped fantastic, Razorlite won the warm up on the first day posting a very quick round, Saorsie came third and I just jumped Tixy round for a nice clear (with alot of bucking!) The next day was the first of the trials. After working Tixy in the morning she was finally settled to jump, she jumped fantastic and won the class and Razorlite just has 4 faults. The next day was a speed round and I just went for a slow clear on Tixy and Razorlite just had one pole down. Saorsie aslo won the warm up that day. The final day was Grand Prix day and I only jumped Tixy, she jumped fab, I went clear in the first round and in the jump-off I was early to go and just didnt get a quick enough time but I still came second which I was very pleased with. I was very happy with my results at that show. Tixy was the only clear over the three days and my others jumped great.
Thursday 7th April 2011 - Moorselle
After Barbizon we travelled on the monday to Moorselle, where we stayed for a week until the show began. Bagera, who has been based with Vincent Lambrech, jumped brilliant, she really has improved alot. Tixylix jumped clear the first two days but in the Grand Prix she stopped in the trebble as she jumped to big over the first part and couldnt make the distance. Razorlite jumped really well, had the fastest time but had once fence. Over all both shows were good. Least i got a nice suntan.
Friday 1st April 2011 - Barbizon
we went to Barbizon in France. After 11 hours travelling we finally arrived. Overall we had a good show, in juniors I finished 1st, 2nd and 4th on User Hune and Zadurmus(Alfie) jumped well. Razorlite came 4th in big tour ponies on the first day and had a pole on the second, sadly I could not jump her on the last day as you were only allowed to jump one in the Grand Prix and I chose Tixylix. Ultrador was jumping brilliant so I jumped her in big tour on the second day finishing with 4 faults. Tixylix jumped clear the first day, so we rested her on the second. The third day was Grand Prix day, Tixy jumped fab in the first round but sadly I had the first fence in the jump off, which I was disapointed with. . All in all the show was good but not great.
Monday 21st March 2011 - Addington Premier show
A really good show. Ultrador jumped on day 1 in the 148 special and flew round to claim top spot.Irish Flash Harry and Saorsie jumped three clean rounds to get placed 4th and 5th in the JC. Tixy and Razorlite jumped really well but both clipped a pole in the third round of the JA Classic. I withdrew them as soon as the pole came down to save them for the next day. Day 2 started well Ultrador flew round again 4 secs up to the last fence by the exit.....she thought I was asking her to go thru the exit and stopped! Next claass Saorsie gave an exhibition and won the JC with some really good turns. Up to now she has never had to try. She is so talented she feels like she is jumping 90cm. Cant wait till we really step her up. In the JA Tixy was just brilliant. Really naughty in the first round she nearly bucked me out the saddle. As they got bigger she stopped playing and started thinking. In round three Amy set a brilliant time and we were last to go. Yet again Tixy came up to the task. She is truly brilliant.
Sunday 6th March 2011 - Arena UK
This is the bad luck show. The ponies jumped ok on day 1 . Saorsie had a pole and Tixy jumped really well to go into the third round Jump off of the John Whittaker. Amy set a good time and I set Tixy about her jump off. I turned her really sharp out of a double and she clipped a pole. No point going on so I retired. Razorlite jumped brilliant and just touched a stile. Flash Harry got placed in the JC. Next day I really felt we had a chance. Bad luck again. Saorsie went thru into the jump off of the JC and went about beating 30 secs. She did the time but trod on her foot an ripped a shoe off over the last and had the pole down! Next Razorlite was jumping better than ever. She jumped left over a big oxer and I kicked the pole out with my foot! Next up was Tixylix who had the first down! We have had some great shows and luck on ourside many times so I guess we just have to take these days in our stride. Next stop Addington.
Sunday 6th February 2011 - Roggel
On the way back from Holland. Razorlite kept up her run with a cracking win in the big tour. Tixy jumped great and I put her into the jump off of the Grand Prix and really went for it....I stood her off the 3rd fence far too far away....even Tixy couldnt make it. Four faults and 6th place. Zadermus was great. He got really tired but kept jumping. I really love his attitude.
Monday 24th January 2011 - Hand Premiere Show
A really good show. Razorlite won the John Whittaker on the second day. It was a big hard track and they went a real good clip in the jump off. Moon(Razorlite) jumped brilliant and I turned her off nothing into a couple of fences. What a big heart! She just grits her teeth and comes off the floor. No more living in Tixys shadow...she can jump any track and deserves some credit. Saorsie was really good and never came out of a canter to win. I have never ridden a pony that does everything so easy without any effort. She has such a future. Tixy stayed at home and got very angry. Flash Harry jumped well and qualified for Hickstead.
Saturday 8th January 2011 - Aintree
The first premier show turned out well. Razorlite jumped really well to win the John Whittaker on day 1. She really is a good pony and will take her chance in all the big classes this year. Ultrador jumped well and won 2 classes also. Saorsie finished second. Not a bad start. Tixy jumped into the third round on day 2 and qualified in second place. Cinderalla Girl won and she looks really good. Saorsie felt brilliant and finished second. The two novices were good and I hope they keep improving. We have a really good team this year..... we wont jump Tixy till Belgium so she wont take her chance at Hand.
Monday 20th December 2010 - Olympia
Wow. What a rollercoaster of a show! Tixy was 4th to go and jumping like a buck. Then she spooked and clipped a pole......thats me out then! Then everybody started clipping poles and nobody went clear. James Robertson had the last and there were no clears. Back in for a 5 way jump off. I sent Tix about her business and she flew. I knew my friend Laura Pritchard was last to go ..and she can fly! Tixy was clear and nobody came near her. What a star. She has been incredible this year. Her record this year will be very hard to match. She is a superstar..a true superstar. I am very lucky. Thank you Tixy for giving me everything you have all year, you have never let me down.
Wednesday 1st December 2010 - Hengelo
What a show centre. Its like a small NEC with shops and cafes all around the ring. We didnt feel the cold because it was all indoors. The jumping was even better as the Germans turned up. Alfie jumped brilliant again and never touched a pole. We could have sold him over and over as people just admired him. Razorlite won a small tour class and Starsky came 4th in the Junior final after a nervous first day. Credit to him. We jumped Tixylix on day one and rested her on the second. The Grand Prix was big and galloping. She jumped a great clear and we went into the jump off with 9 clears. With Bertram Allen, Emma O`Dwer and Tebbel in the line up it would need something special to win.....Tixy came up with something special, she jumped right across the face of a vertical and galloped across the ring to jump the last. Unbeatable. She is something really special. Dad said that when we bought her the best was yet to come and everybody thought he was wrong. I think he is right. She is a superstar, a one off. Its such a privelege to ride her.
Thursday 25th November 2010 - Neeroteren Belgium
It was even colder in Europe than in the UK. Our water froze on day 2 and the stables were bitter cold. The jumping was really good and the competition just as hard as ever.Obviously the Europeans dont worry about getting to shows in the snow! We took Alfie(Zadermus) for his first trip abroad and we were worried it might be too much. Alfie loved it and skipped round the Juniors for fun. Never touched a pole. Razorlite and Ultrador were placed each day but just had the odd pole. Twixy warmed up for the Grand Prix with a 4 faults. In the Grand Prix she just excelled herself. Clear in the first round she just blitzed them in the jump off! Last to go she took 2 seconds off the time. Just amazing! Next stop Hengelo.
Wednesday 20th October 2010 - Moorselle
Back to Belgium. I really love it there. Great jumping and a really nice place. Razorlite jumped great on Day i in the speed class and finished second. The next day we put her in the big class and she was just brilliant winning with time to spare. She really is a warrior. On day three we galloped her round the speed and she had one down. Tixy was really good. We just schooled her round on the first two days and let her go in the Grand Prix. Sambolina went really fast and I let Tixy rip....too fast! She took 3 seconds out of the time never missed a beat until I stood her off the last and we clipped it.....finished 3rd. I had time to take a pull but she was travelling so fast I thought it was best not to interfere. Bad choice! Ultrador got some place money and Usar Hune came 2nd in the Juniors. Baghira jumped really well but I just have to take my time with her. Next stop back to Belgium and Holland at the end of the month.
Monday 11th October 2010 - HOYS
Tixylix won the Leading Pony of the Year ! She is simply the best she really is. She was brill, I missed her in the jump off at an up right and she just went higher. Any other pony would never have made it.......It was dads first day out after his operation so it made it doubly good to win. Bagira jumped in the Grade C final. I was a bit nervous but she did not let me down. Just touched a pole but jumped well. Really pleased with her. Saorsie had a pole down in the Newcomers and two down in the Fox. Bit dissapointing ...maybe shes done enough this year. Anyway Tix was great and won yet another major title.
Friday 1st October 2010 - Addington
Dad got taken into hospital for appendix and I was dropped off with 4 ponies at Addington. My friend Connor helped me and Duncan Inglis warmed me up. Ultrador started off sticky and got better by day 3 and in the final she picked up 2nd place and £250 behind Laura Whiteway. Razorlite ran out of puff on the last day I jumped her in the Grand Prix so I withdrew her after fence 3. Tixy jumped well all week and I never really pushed her till the Grand Prix. Yet again she was sensational. Jumping like a buck she picked up yet another win and another £1000! Great prize money and a great show. Saorsie jumped well and finished 2nd in her smaller Grand Prix. I am reall looking forward to HOYS.....Tixy is on fire!
Saturday 11th September 2010 - Weston Lawns
A really long day and we jumped off the Grand Prix almost in the dark! The prizegiving was really pitch black. Saorsie jumped 4 clears and looks to be coming right for HOYS she finished 2nd in the Newcomers. The Grand Prix was quite big and really really long! Razorlite went first and jumped great to have a clear. Tixy jumped clear and we were 2 of 10 thru to the jump off. I went fast on Tixy and went into the lead. Then Cappagh Supreme got ahead of me and I was left with Razorlite to beat a really quick time. She was great turning and galloping she went into the lead and won. Well done Moonbeam! Great resulut and Tixy finished 4th. Next stop Addington.
Thursday 2nd September 2010 - Scope
Quite a mixed show. Kept nearly winning...but not quite enough. Highlight of the week was Saorsie winning the Adventurer. She jumped good all week and came second in the Foxhunter and fifth in the Newcomers to qualify for HOYS. In the Adventurer I pushed her a bit harder and she won quite comfortably by 2 seconds. She really is good. One of the best I have had. I do not want dad to sell her and we keep having arguments. Mums horse Usar Hune jumped really well and came second on both the Children on Horses and under 16 championships. Nearly won them both but an early draw for me left something to aim at and Tim Wilkes beat me in the Juniors by a fraction of a second. Really pleased with Bagira. I thought she was too much of a beast for me to ride this year but bit by bit we are getting it together. I jumped her in the under 21s and she was special. Spent so long in the air I got a time fault and finished 8th. I am really looking forward to her future...she gives me such a great feel. Tixylix......what a naughty girl. She was jumping in the Grand Prix so well and playing with the fences that she decided to buck right infront of the planks!! No time to do anything but sit tight and hope.....sadly she hit it. Nevermind...she has been bucking in classes for 3 years and has got away with it....not this time. So all in all an ok show that could have been a great show....!
Sunday 22nd August 2010 - Moorselle and Nieuwport
What a brilliant 2 weeks we had in Belgium. First we went to Moorselle. Razorlite went brilliant and jumped three classes. She won 2 and was second in the third. She just flies! Ultrador jumped in the Grand Prix and finished third with the fastest 4 faults. She was really good and I think she is really coming to herself. Tixy jumped great and just had a pole in the Grand Prix. We spent the next few days after the show in Moorselle it was a real laugh. Alex Buller and Emma Dwer were there and we had a great time. On to Neiuwport....what a show. Not only did Razorlite win all three classes but mums horse Starsky won a Juniors class. She was over the moon!! On the last day in the Grand Prix they just got faster and faster...the Irish were flat out everywhere and a brilliant round by Pelsmaker and Sambolina took the lead with Tixy to go. I really asked her and once again she came up with all the answers. Just brilliant. She shaved a second off the time and took the Grand Prix. We won 5 classes. Great show back to Scope next week.
Tuesday 27th July 2010 - European Finals
Well we got to the European Finals and for the second year it did work out. On day 1 Tixy jumped good but not brilliant but was clear. She just didnt feel right. On Day 2 she had a pole. On the 3rd day it was the teams day and when we were working her she felt below her best. Not exploding over fences just clearing them. In the ring she had 2 down and we were out of contention. We knew going into the last day we were out...but thats show jumping I guess. Disaster struck on day 1 for the Teams when Daisy Davis took a fall and broke her collar bone. Is was sad for us but for her it was really bad for her she was going so well before. Amy flew the flag for the Brits and finished fourth. She did really well. My best friend Grace Walker won silver Medal Individually and Gold for Team in the Eventing. It was just brilliant. Lets hope that we can do better next year!!
Saturday 3rd July 2010 - Chester
Last of the European Trials and Tixy did the business. She won the Trial with a cracking clear. The selectors have picked us to go to the Europeans and come Bishops Burton we need luck to get in the medals. The Team can win the Europeans if all goes according to plan. It gets really tense there so we have to support each other and work as a team to overcome any problems...which are guarenteed to happen! I cant wait .....! Come on Team GB !!
Saturday 19th June 2010 - Hagen
What a long journey. We stopped off in Belgium and stabled overnight. Tixylix and Razorlite had never been on straw and when we got to Germany Tixy was syffering from colic. It was worrying but John Kinninbeck the team vet looked after her and the next day she was well enough to jump. Razorlite had one down in a great time in the speed class and Tixy jumped clear. Day 2 and Razorlite jumped brilliant to win the speed class and showed what a flying machine she is. The Nations Cup was a bit of a disaster but we pulled ourselves back into Bronze position. Day 3 TIxy jumped really well but clipped the last fence. I had kept her travelling thru the class and as there were only 2 clears we finished third. My friend Abigail Newbery won the class...well done Abby brilliant!
Tuesday 1st June 2010 - Southview International Trials
Really good weekend. Razorlite kicked off taking the Warm up on day 1. Tixy won the Trial on the second day and won the Trial Grand Prix in joint first on the sunday. It was a monster track and only Amy and us jumped clear. Tixy wiped her brow after her round and she found it tough. Dad spoke to Duncan Inglis and we shared the prize. My best fun was on Alfie(Zadermus) who has been up at Pippas for a while. I love this horse and although he is still a baby he jumped great and won the Foxhunter. Mums horse Starsky jumped a double clear and shared the Nations Cup first Prize. She was really happy and I managed to squeeze a little present for the jockey out of her! We will go to the premier show at Weston Lawns without Tixy she needs a little R&R before her trip to Germany.
Saturday 15th May 2010 - Moorselle
Nations Cup We won Gold. Thats what we went for and although it did not go to plan it came out well at the end. Lara Whiteway led the way with a great clear and Amy followed up with 4 faults. Then disaster struck Laurs Robinson got into trouble in the combi and hit the deck. She just picked herself up and brushed herself off. If it was me I would still be laying there now! Tixy jumped clear and we were back in the driving seat. Laura did a clear in round 2 and we won. She really is tough! The water jump caught nearly everyone out all week. In the Grand Prix Tixy put her foot in it and hit a pole. Razorlite was brilliant, We put her in the big class on day 1 and she finished 2nd. Next day I really put her to the sword and she won by 3 seconds. On day 3 she had a pole.....no surprise really, its really hard to stay careful when you have gone so fast the day before. Great show apart from Tixy stamping on poor Mums foot.
Monday 3rd May 2010 - Wales and West viewing Trials
We went there knowing that we had left a bit of work on the ponies. They have had a break and only 80% fit. I went very steady on day 1 and 2 and thought that Tixy would jump clear on day 3. To be honest she really was jumping but I did not get my last line right and she had 2 down! Anyway she has been picked for Moorselle next week to go on the Nations Cup Team. She really likes it there so fingers crossed. We dropped Razorlite out for 2 weeks before and she was ring rusty. She got a second place but not quite right yet. We will work on her fitness this week as she is going to Belgium too. Saorsie jumped brilliant and never touched a twig. She will have a week off while we are away.
Saturday 10th April 2010 - Jon Whittaker Final NEC
Wow!! What a week. Things keep getting better. Just got back from winning the John Whittaker Final at the NEC. Four of us got thru to the second round and I was drawn first again. Tixy was mega...i turned her and took out strides and she answered every call. She is simply sensational! At the winners ceremony 2 Knights in Armour accompagnied Tixy into the ring...she did not like the look of them and I had to hang on tight. A really great week. Things have gone great and I had luck on my side. I got home and the dogs started fighting I put my hand in to seperate them and I got bit!! It hurts like hell . A little well earned rest now.......for the ponies and my hand!
Tuesday 6th April 2010 - BSJA Ball
We went to the NEC for the BSJA Awards. It was a really nice do and everybody was there. I was awarded the Pony Show Jumper of the Year for 2009. It was really great to get that award. The whole year has been brilliant and Tixy has really been more than we could have hoped for. My mum and Dad have worked hard thru the year with me and its been a real Team effort. I hope that we can keep it up and that most important luck is with us for 2010!!
Thursday 1st April 2010 - POYS
I only took 4 Ponies to the show, so it was quite easy going ecxcept for the fact that Tixylix`s class was the last class every night jumping till 12 at night.! The first day it was outdoors, Ultrador was on fire but had the last down with the quickest time. The second day ,she had the 5th down in a two phase track and for the last few days I went a bit fast. But I suppose if you dont beat the time then you dont win. Razorlite had one down the first day, she was a bit fresh and had a fence through the trebble. The second day she jumped a super round to take the class. In the Grand Prix ,we got into the third round of the jump off and did a tight turn and hit a fence knee high, but beat the time by 7 seconds! Saorsie is another one coming up, she is only 6 and she doesnt spook at a thing, she jumped 2 lovely clears over the first day, she looked class. In the small Grand Prix she jumped a lovely round to come second without even trying. Finally Tixylix, over the first 4 days i was just aiming for clears to put myself in 5th or 6th to gain points for leading rider. The Grand Prix was fab and Tixy jumped brill, i was first to go in the jump of and i set a great round and nobody could get near the time. I won the Grand Prix and leading rider, Tixy had a great show. All in all great show and Tixy finished that off for me.
Friday 19th March 2010 - Addington
Great show everying fell into place. Ultrador won two JC/JA`s and nearly won yet another but had the last fence and fastest time. Tixylix, what a superstar, she jumped like a buck and this time no bucking! In the Grand Prix, Amy set a cracking time, I set Tixy about her business and she answered every question. But i missed a turn and came second. She jumped super the next day and I did not miss a turn, she won and jumped fantastic. Saorsie won her first Grand Prix! i twisted and turned her, she was brave and careful. Finally Razorlite, what a tryer, i jumped her in the big JA class on sunday and she jumped a lovely clear in the first round but i think i pushed her too much in the jump off and had two down.
Saturday 6th March 2010 - Towerlands
Now we are on a roll, they are all better and really doing their job. It was a great show. Tixylix won the John Whittaker on the first day but sadly on day two she went wild, kicking and bucking, she had a rail. Ultrador.... yet another win, she really is flying. We decided to take Saorsie down a level and get her Foxhunters ready for next year. Razorlite was back and a little ring rusty but jumped a nice clear, she should be spot on for next time.
Thursday 18th February 2010 - Aintree
We are back in form, well most of them anyway Razorlite was still at home in bed. All the others jumped brilliant. Ultradors back is better and she jumped fab. She won the first day with a flying round to take the JC/JA Blue chip. Tixylix was great.....a bit full of it but back to her normal self. She jumped the only triple clear to win the John Whittaker. Saorsie is as good as i hoped, she jumped a real classy round to win the JC and now qualified to jump at Hickstead.
Tuesday 9th February 2010 - Vet
Today the vet came round to do blood counts on the ponies. It turns out we were right. The blood count was really low, and the ponies were ill! He gave them antibiotics and we are going to rest them for a week.
Friday 5th February 2010 - Ingliston
What a fab place. The arena is really great and the warm up is better than some shows! It always takes ages to get to Scotland but I will certainly go back there anytime its on. Tixylix isnt quite firing yet and she had one down each day. Ultrdor is coming back from a sore back, and she feels like she is coming into form. She jumped a good clear to be placed 5th. Razorlite didnt feel right and she was really sweating but she still tried her heart out and won the first day (what a trier) and finally Saorsie a new member to the team, she is only a baby but has a big heart. She jumped in both JC classes and just missed out by one each day. All in all my results were average but the ponies are not quite right but still tried their hardest.
Sunday 3rd January 2010 - Hand
The show went on forever...in the cold 4 days for horses and 3 days for ponies. Sound Cat jumped well and won a Progressive and Saorsie jumped well and got experience. Razorlite got a kick in the practice ring and we had to withdraw her on the first day but on day 2 she jumped really well to win the JA/JC. Mum thought that 1 class would be enough. In the 148 on Tixy she jumped really well and I tried to win without burning her up. No such luck. Darby Ward and Caprice beat my time and won the class. Nevermind on to the first Premier show at Aintree on the weekend. The weather forecast is for bad snow. I hope its on because we all want to go to Roggel in Belgium in Feb. Ella Curley let me have the ride on Spot in the 138s. We finished 4th. That really is a nice pony and if I get to ride it in some HOYS and RIHS qualifiers it would be a real contender. We just need to get to know each other.
Wednesday 30th December 2009 - Hand
I had my first go at a Puissance at Hand. What a laugh. We bought a horse called Calandra as a brood mare about 3 months ago. Shes 15 and very well bred. Apparently she was a good horse once but the BSJA said she had only been doing 1,10s in Europe. Dad said they were mad and it had a serious jump in her. As we jumped the wall at 1.80 I thought they must have big 1.10s in Europe! There were 3 of us sharing first prize. It was the best fun I have had for ages...must find another Puissance somewhere!
Monday 21st December 2009 - Olympia
What a great way to finish on a great year. It was the JJ Junior Stakes at Olympia and Tixylix was drawn last to go. She jumped a brilliant round and clear. Never got near a fence. There were 4 in the jump off and Abbey Newberry set a good clear. Laura Pritchard went next and took two seconds out of her by turning as she landed over the second fence. I reckoned if I took the longer route and kept travelling I could beat her. Tixy once again just flew! I let her go and she was just brilliant....down to the last up and over and I heard the crowd roar. We had won it. Thank you Tixy for a great year
Wednesday 9th December 2009 - Hand Senior Show
Had a bit of fun today. Didnt have to go to school so we took three horses to Hand. Lanique won the 1.10 Starsky(Usar Hune) won the 1.20 and 1.30. Mum loves Starsky and was over the moon to see him win a couple of classes. Three out of three cant be bad. Next show will be Olympia for the ponies so we took Tixy along to have a trot round in the sun....shes so spoilt!
Friday 27th November 2009 - Hand Equestrian Centre
We have had quite a long break and the ponies just chilled out in the paddocks. After 6 weeks we just made it to our first show at Hand. There was a really good turnout and loads of top ponies made there way to the 3 day show. On the first day Tixylix jumped well enough just a little crazy. Razorlight won the 148 class and the others jumped some nice clears. On saturday I went on a school social so no show. On sunday we went back for the Grand Prix. There were 8 clears including Tixy, Maradonna, Colour of Money and Pocket Rocket. Tim did a great jump off and set a task for everyone. Pippa went in on Marradona and turned short to everything. I was last to go and really let Tixy go .....she turned brilliant and jumped like a buck...she took 3 seconds out of Maradonna! She is something really special. It just goes to show how important the draw is. I would never have gone that fast if I did not see Pippa do it. After the Hand our next show will be Olympia on 21st December. No show before that so we will have to get them right at home. Really looking forward to next season. ........Cant wait !!
Sunday 11th October 2009 - HOYS
So close and yet so far. That was my HOYS. Dooneens Future Star jumped in the 138 final and jumped really well in the first round. Clear. We were drawn early and I really let him go. He tried his heart out and clocked a great time. I asked dad if was good enough and he said "Only one pony can beat that" More than Milton and he was next to go. Darby Ward sent him about his business and he flew. We were beaten into 2nd by 100th of a second! I spent the next hour trying to work out what 100th of a second was? Maybe if I hadn't clipped his whiskers we might have won!!! Anyway well done Darby she deserved it...the cup just had her name on it. Next day Tixylix jumped in the Show jumper of the year. She was awesome and coming down to the last I was going to be one of three clears. She just touched the fence and down it came. It was such a hard track that we finished 4th on 4 faults. On the way home we talked about Tixys year. She has been in the frame in nearly every class she has been in. This year she had been a superstar and its been a privilege to ride her. We will give her 3 weeks off then start her winter campaign. Razorlite jumped a little tired and needs a break. Ultrador had the last down in the Foxhunter...that was my week so close and yet so far.....
Sunday 13th September 2009 - Barbizon
just got back from Barbizon in France. The horses and ponies jumped really well we just kept hitting the crossbar! On the first day I just schooled Tixy round she was wild...kicking and bucking not really concentrating just showing off. The next day she was only a little better ....still jumping real. Day 3 and the Grand Prix was a difficult track. She once again jumped brilliant and clear. We were drawn early in the jump off and did a fast time to take the lead without going inside too many fences. I thought an inside turn could be done but Dad said no. Sadly Pippas Dad said go for it.. Pippa did and Maradonna took the lead. Then Van Nooren did the same and we ended up 3rd. I cant complain Pippa rode brilliant and Tixy did everything I asked of her. Razorlight was once again on fire, finishing in the frame each day and in the 90 strong speed Grand Prix she set an unbelievable time. Then right at the end a French girl went round like the pony was on fire and we finished second. I went last on Ultrador and galloped her at everything....down came the last fence! The horses jumped well enough and got in the money but no wins. All in all they jumped great and I was very pleased. Next stop HOYS.
Monday 7th September 2009 - Scope festival
On day one Razorlite jumped really well and finished 2nd in the final of the Members Cup. On day 2 she won the Newcomers Masters and really jumped her socks off. Next day Ultrador and Razorlite jumped in the Foxhunter Masters final. Razorlite was really tired from the first day and had 2 down. Ultrador was fresh and nearly won it but in the jump off he ried to bounce a double ! Never mind she finished 2nd. I didn't have much luck with the horses. Starsky was motoring in the jump off turned really well and went over....we hit the deck and that was that. I thought Lanique would win the Children on horses class but he locked onto the wrong fence and by the time he looked at the right fence it was too late. So not much luck there.
Tixylix jumped really well and qualified with Razorlite for the Dunglenn. She was the first clear and the course really took some jumping. Razorlite had a pole in the treble but jumped brilliant...i think she will get to the top in time. In the jump off I was drawn first. She did a good clear but we left a couple of seconds for someone on Tixy......nobody did a clear and it looked like we had done enough....Pippa Allen jumped Maradona and got inside a fence to beat my time. I hate losing but if anyone deserved to win it was Pippa. Its great for her after the disappointment of the Europeans. I will miss her next year. She really is a good competitor in ponies. We are off to Barbizon in France.......
Saturday 1st August 2009 - European Finals Morselle Belgium
Well we got there but luck was not on my side. The first day Tixy jumped brilliant never hit a pole. The other 4 Team members jumped clean and Chef D`Equipe Katrina Moore and Clare Whitaker were faced with who to choose. She chose Jordan Nathan over Pippa Allen. The next day was teams day. Tixy jumped great she was one of only three clears and she was going airborne over her fences. The next round proved even harder, we were popping away jumping everything with ease... I came down to the last treble .. put her dead right and bang! she took the pole out with her knee and sent it right in front of the second part of the treble. I had no chance of jumping it without risking an accident. She is so brave she would have had a shot but I turned a circle and came down the treble perfect on a second go. 4 faults for the fence 4 for the circle and 2 time. 10 faults....ahhhhh!!! The rest of the team jumped and Chad did really well and just had 5 faults. It just did not go right for the others. I looked at the start list the next day.....I had slipped from first to 16th. The next day was a day off and we went to support the Event Team. On the Monday it was back onboard. It was a monster of a track. Very big ...in your face... technical. There were tricks everywhere. No clears and we were 19th to go. Tixy just jumped her way round giving air to every fence. She was brilliant and registered the only clear to date. I sat and watched the remainder crash out and have faults. It was nail biting but I knew that it was just too big a bridge to gap. The second round came again and Tixy just got better. Never looked like touching a pole and we ended up 6th Individually. Not so bad. But that one pole in the treble came back to haunt me. Never mind... next year! Chad flew the flag for Team GB. He finished 3rd and won Bronze. Chad is a real good guy and a really good rider. I will miss him next year.
Monday 20th July 2009 - Hickstead
I thought that Razorlite would win the JC. She is flying. Show jumping is some leveller.....i was eliminated. She has never stopped ever. This red wall was not for her! Next round and same again on Ultrador! The last class was the 138s and Toby jumped really well. Clear in the first round and the last down in the jump off and we finished third. No luck today!!!! Hickstead is best forgot and get on with the Europeans ... we leave on Monday.
Saturday 18th July 2009 - Wales and West
Quite a mixed show. Lanique jumped in 4 children on horses classes and won 2 and finished 2nd in the other 2. He really is the best horse in this class really consistent and careful. We sold Donneens Future Star and the new owners wanted us to jump him there. He won the first day and jumped really well. The next day we jumped him in the HOYS Qualifier. Great first round then I completely missed him. oooooh. Next day we jumped him in the Teams. A really good 2 clears and there was a jump off. It was all down to me and Toby to shave off 5 seconds from the Irish....mission impossible. I galloped Toby at everything and got away with 5 fences then .. the next three fences came down and we got Silver. Tixy just got schooled round to keep her sweet. Razorlite won the Foxhunter second round by jumping three superb rounds she is flying and Hickstead at the end of the week.
Monday 22nd June 2009 - Freudenberg German Nations Cup
I know I have said it before but things just keep getting better and better. Tixylix won their Grand Prix and Razorlite won the small Tour!! It was one of the hardest and biggest tracks I have jumped. Technical, on bad ground in the rain and very very big. The class was a disaster for all but three of the 70 starters. Tixy jumped in a rainstorm and just ate the track up. Clear and into the jump off. In the jump off I let her go and turned her. She was brilliant...just brilliant. The other 2 ponies couldn't match her and she added one more title to her CV. I just hope I can do her justice over the next 4 years in 148s. Next day Razorlite went into battle. And like the Lionheart she is she jumped and galloped her socks off. On the first day she was really tired from the journey but she picked herself up and we heard "God save the Queen" for the second time. She really deserved her moment of glory. On the Nations Cup day the ground and conditions just got worse. Tixy Jumped clear the first round and when she put her foot in the water the second day we were going to finish 2nd to the Swedish Team. To be fair they deserved to win. On the day they were the better Team. We travelled 12 hours non stop back so at the moment I have no idea where is next......
Tuesday 16th June 2009 - Hand Premiere Show.
We decided to drop Tixylix back to a small track to keep her sweet. We jumped her in a 1.15 and she had 2 down. I think she was insulted! Anyway it was a show for the other ponies and a chance to qualify them. We have spent so much time abroad we are missing the chances. Donneens Future Star jumped on day1. I have not ridden him for a few weeks and he jumped like a buck. Never touched a stick and felt like he was jumping a 80cm class not a HOYS qualifier. He jumped 3 clears finished 2nd and qualified. Job done. Next class was the Newcomers Second Round Qualifier for HOYS. Razorlite jumped brilliant turned like a motorbike and won the class with 4 seconds to spare. She will join Tixylix in Germany next week. On the Sunday it was Ultradors turn in the Foxhunter Second Round. She did not let the side down and jumped great to win her ticket to HOYS by winning the class. Great show and three qualified two of them winning their classes.....next stop Freudenberg Germany!
Friday 12th June 2009 - The Royal Show
We were all a little concerned that the Royal Show on grass would be a difficult ask for Tixy and there was always the risk that a bad round could end our bid for the Europeans. On day one Tixy was a little wild but jumped well and had 2 down. The next day was the big one and yet again Tixylix came up to the mark. A good clear in the first round meant there was three of us thru to the jump off. I really let her out and she did a great time .. but maybe too fast she had one down. I sat and watched Chad Fellows do a brilliant clear and knock us into 2nd. Just after the class, the team was announced. Pippa Allen, Chad, Tim Wilkes. Jordan and me. The only sad thing was my friend Yazmin never made it. She was trying to get Edzilla thru on an injury and it wa just too much. So off to Moorsele for the finals.
Monday 1st June 2009 - Moreselle International Belgium
Things just keep getting better....we really are on a roll. We went to Belgium to jump in their Grand Prix and Tixylix stole the show. She jumped like a cat. We were drawn 6th of 9 in the jump off and it was a big course that could only be won by galloping and turning. She did not let me down. Her time was just too fast to beat and she added yet another major prize to her collection. Razorlite stepped up again to the big time and she jumped her socks off second and third on 2 days and the fastest round and the last down on the other. She gave me a great feel and dad bought a picture of her with her legs out sideways trying to miss a pole. She really is a brave pony. All the other GB team jumped well and we are shaping up for the Europeans. The French look especially strong and have a lot of top riders and ponies. The rest of the guys went on to Wierden but I have got some exams now so no riding for 2 weeks. Then one day on them and on to Hand...
Monday 25th May 2009 - European Trials Southview
After coming back from Belgium we thought Tixylix would need 5 days off. Bad move. She was so fresh I could not hold her and had 8 faults. Day 2 and she was on fire again she jumped a double clear and got beat by Pippa Allen by 700th of a second. Next day she came out and this time I let her handbrake off and she won the class...really pleased with her and next week we go back to Belgium again. All the other ponies got placed and Razorlite and Ultrador just got out the qualifiers in the Foxhunter and Newcomers. I am sure they will qualify, so its not really a problem. Pippa Allen was in great form and I am really looking to a long hard season against her...bring on Belgium!
Monday 18th May 2009 - Grobbendonk Belgium NATIONS CUP
What a great time we had in Belgium. It was a Nations Cup and teams from France, Belgium, Holland, Germany and all the European Countries sent their pony squads. It really rained there and the mosquitoes and flies were really eating the horses. I was first to go on Tixylix and she flew round without touching a pole. Katie Spelar and Pippa jumped clear and we were able to discard Jazmine's 8. We went into round 2 and Tixy did her stuff again and jumped clear and clean. Going into the last round Pippa had 2 fences in hand and clipped the second last....we held our breath and she jumped the last. Great result and a really good team effort. Ultrador and Razorlite jumped awesome...they had 2 second placings each and held the lead in the jump offs right to the very end each time and then one of the last of the riders came in and pipped us. I think that Razorlite really showed her ability and we tried her in the big class and she just jumped her socks off. Every day I ride her she gets better... I think she is going all the way to the top. Next stop South view Trials.....
Tuesday 12th May 2009 - Wales and West European trials
Had a good show. We were a little worried that our form needs to continue and on day 1 Tixylix jumped well and she finished 2nd in the European Trial. On day 2 I just took it too easy. Everybody said just jump a clear and don't worry about time. I had a stop at the water. Next day all went well we jumped 2 real good clears without asking too much in the jump off we finished 2nd to Pippa Allen in the Grand Prix. In the children on horses class Lanique was brill. as usual never touched a fence all week and won both his classes and jumped double clear in the Nations Cup. So he won the Grand Prix and sadly wont be jumping in the Nations Cup. I have my chance on Ponies and anything else will have to take second place. So off to Grobbendonk in Belgium on wed. for the Nations Cup with Tixy. Lets see how we do.
Wednesday 15th April 2009 - POYS
Just got back from POYS we had a great show. We tried to get Tixylix just spot on for the Grand Prix. We kept her nice and steady on the first day and she finished 2nd. We dropped her out the speed class on day 2 so she had 2 days off then schooled her round the next day. All ready for the Grand Prix. She jumped like a buck and did 3 brilliant clears. Luckily that was enough to win. She felt so good she could have jumped another 3 rounds. I am really looking forward to the European Trials. Next week we will school her round a small 1 metre class to keep her fresh. Razorlite and Ultrador jumped really well. Ultrador won the Talent Spotters Grand Prix and was placed in every other class. She won me the leading Rider for that section. She is coming along well, she needs loads of schooling and flat work if she is to get to the top...so this holiday will be all work. Razorlite jumped really well and I went as fast as her Legs would carry her in the 148 Special on Sat night is was a really fast and furious class and Stephanie Gunn came out top. She is a really fast and determined rider and deserves to win loads this season. The 138s jumped ok....dad thinks its time to concentrate on the bigger ponies .. maybe he is right. Next stop Wales and West!!!
Tuesday 7th April 2009 - Barbizon
We went to Barbizon in France. Its a lovely show and we took two horses Lanique and Usar Hune (I think that's how you spell it!) Lanique jumped well on the first day and finished second. The second day I schooled him round and finished 4th. All ready for the Grand Prix, I got in the jump off and really let him rip......maybe too fast.. I was well up on the clock but he got out of my hands and missed him at the second last. So we finished 6th....never mind. Next week is Pony of the Year. I have a real busy week and POYS always clashes with my birthday. Lets hope I am as lucky as last year. Andy Austin has given me the ride on a 148 called Sound Cat from Ireland. He is only a novice. He is very soft but has a really nice jump, I have big hopes for him. Next stop POYS....
Monday 16th February 2009 - Towerlands
We are really having a great run. Tixylix jumped in the John Whittaker Classic on the first day and won the class. She was brilliant and never looked like touching a pole. We had high hopes of doing the double on the Sunday and we went into the second round with two to beat. I thought I had gone clear but I had a pole and we finished second, never mind the class was won with a really good clear by Jasmin Pinchen, Razorlite jumped herself into 3rd in the JC, so she has qualified for Hickstead. We wont take the 148s to the last Premiere show because they have done enough we will give them a rest and have them fresh for POYS.
Saturday 7th February 2009
Snow ................................. Lorry got stuck in the snow. So we spent the weekend at home. Never mind Towerlands next stop.
Monday 26th January 2009
Just got back from Hand from the 148 premiere show. It went really well. Tixylix jumped brilliant in the John Whittaker classic and did 3 clear rounds to finish 2nd. I thought I had done enough to win it but forgot how good Laura Pritchard is in a jump off. She went really fast and won the class. Day 2 and Tixylix jumped brilliant again did not touch a pole. Three clear rounds an that was enough to win it. Ultrador jumped in the Hickstead JC qualifier and won that too so we had a really good weekend. Next stop Scotland!
Monday 19th January 2009 - Arena UK
I took my 3 138s to Arena UK. Toby (Dooneens Future Star) really shone on both days. On the first day in the warm up he was really acting the fool ... but he's just like that getting spooky and leaping around. But in the ring he was awesome in the three rounds he never touched a fence and Jasmin Tanfield did a really good fast clear and dad said we could not beat it. But Toby flew and won. On day 2 it was the same. Acting the fool and then going in the ring and showing his class. He really is the "real deal" I cant remember any pony winning both qualifiers on 2 days and he is still just a baby. If he keeps improving he will something very special. Creative Dancer also qualified. Next stop the Hand for the 148 second rounds.
Tuesday 13th January 2009
We went to College for the first 148 premiere show and it went really well. Ultrador and Razorlite jumped good and got placed in both classes on both days. They really are coming along and I have high hopes of them in time. Tixylix jumped brilliant on the first day getting into the third round of the John Whittaker. I pressed her too hard in the jump off and she had a pole. She finished 4th. Next day I went a gear slower and everything fell into place. She was the only pony to jump 3 clears and she won. So now she is qualified. Next stop will be the 138s at Arena uk.
Wednesday 7th January 2009
The 138s came out at Hand last week. They were very fresh but jumped brilliant. Toby (Doneens Future Star) won a class and Creative Dance won the other. In the Grand Prix I really let Dance go...so much so that we did the course in 28 sec and took 4 secs out the class...but I hit the timer and got disqualified! So I had to ride Toby flat out. He jumped really well. He won the Grand Prix in 27 secs. Lets see how they do at the Premieres.
Friday 2nd January 2009 - Wierden
We went to Wierden in Holland on Boxing Day. After 12 hours in the lorry we got there. It was so cold that everything froze. But what a great show we had all my 148s jumped brilliant. They were placed in every class. Ultrador won a 7yr old class and came 2nd in the final to my friend Jasmin Pinchen. Razorlite was also placed in every class and came second in the small tour Grand Prix. The highlight was Tixylix winning the Wierden Grand Prix. It was a really fast time to beat but Tixy just flew! She really is amazing. I have now got to go to the premiere show over here and prove that was not just a one off and get consistent with her. So we start off at College next weekend. Fingers crossed.
Saturday 22nd November 2008 - The run to Christmas
I finally had to let go of my 128s and move on to the bigger ponies. Tixylix and I are getting it together and I am really looking forward to the next 4 years! We are going to Belgium this weekend and it gives me a chance to go head to head against the Europeans. I have also got Ultrador and Razorlite coming along behind Tixy. Fingers crossed.
